Import your first patient and appointment CSV
Use the Imports screen to bring in patients and appointments from a CSV without losing data.
Last updated May 15, 2026
The Imports screen accepts CSV files for patients and appointments. Each import is recorded as a batch so you can see what was added and roll problems back if needed.
Prepare your CSV
- Use the column headers shown in the import dialog. Extra columns are ignored.
- Patient identifiers should match what your existing PMS exports — typically external_id, email, or phone.
- Dates should be ISO (YYYY-MM-DD) or your local date format. The importer will tell you if a row is unreadable.
Run the import
- Open Settings → Imports.
- Choose the import type (patients or appointments) and upload the file.
- Confirm the column mapping ChairNav suggests, then start the batch.
- Review the success and failed counts. Fix failed rows in your source file and re-import only those.
