1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — work in related ways. We use "cookies" as shorthand for all of these throughout this policy.
Cookies can be set by ChairNav directly (first-party) or by services we use (third-party). They can be temporary (session) or persist across visits. We use both, depending on the purpose described below.
2. Necessary cookies
Necessary cookies are required for ChairNav to function. They support core operations such as load balancing, fraud prevention, security, accessibility, and remembering that you've made a cookie choice. Without these cookies the product cannot operate as intended.
These cookies are always on and cannot be disabled through the cookie settings. Disabling them at the browser level may break sign-in, navigation, or other essential features.
3. Authentication and session cookies
When you sign in to ChairNav, we use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, refresh your session, and protect your account from common attacks. These are part of the necessary category and are essential to using a signed-in workspace.
4. Preference cookies
Preference cookies remember interface choices that make the product feel consistent across visits — for example, theme, density, language, and which one-time notices you've already dismissed. They aren't required, but the product feels less personalized without them.
5. Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand, in aggregate, how ChairNav is used so we can improve workflows and fix problems. We focus on aggregate, privacy-aware metrics (such as feature usage, navigation patterns, and error rates) rather than tracking individuals across the web.
Analytics cookies are off by default and load only after you opt in through the cookie banner or settings. If we add a specific analytics provider, we will list it here so you always know what's loaded.
6. Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies help us measure the performance of educational content, outreach, and campaigns. They are off by default and load only with your explicit consent.
We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers on our marketing site. If that changes, we'll list the specific providers in this section before they're loaded.
7. Your current choices
The toggles below reflect your current choices. Necessary cookies are always on. Analytics and marketing remain off until you turn them on.

8. How we use cookies
ChairNav uses cookies to:
- keep you signed in and protect your session;
- remember your interface preferences;
- understand which features need attention (analytics, with consent);
- measure the performance of educational content (marketing, with consent);
- protect the service from fraud, abuse, and automated attacks.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share cookie data with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
9. Manage your preferences
You can change your cookie choices at any time:
- Use the to update categories.
- Use the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer to reopen the settings panel from any page.
- Necessary cookies remain on regardless of your choices, because the product cannot function without them.
Your choice is stored locally in your browser. Clearing your browser data, switching browsers, or using a different device will reset the choice and the banner will appear again.
10. Browser controls
Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies in their settings. The exact location varies by browser, but you can usually find these controls under "Privacy", "Security", or "Site settings". Many browsers also support a "Do Not Track" signal and a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal — we honor GPC for non-essential categories where the browser sends it.
Blocking all cookies at the browser level may prevent sign-in, break parts of the product, and reset your preferences on every visit.
